The National Medical Supplies Fund signs an agreement to construct new strategic warehouses

In a qualitative step aimed at strengthening the pharmaceutical security system and increasing the storage capacity for the storage and distribution of medical products, the National Fund for Medical Supplies signed an agreement for the construction of new strategic warehouses in Gezira State on an area of 13,000 square meters at a total cost of (5.34 million US dollars), provided that the project will be implemented within a period of eight months starting from Tuesday, 23/09/2025. Additionally, another warehouse will be constructed in the River Nile State on an area of 10,000 square meters at a total cost of (7.76 million US dollars), and the project will be implemented within a period of ten months starting from Wednesday, 24/09/2025.
The Director General of the National Medical Supplies Fund, Dr. Badreddin Mohamed Ahmed Al-Jazouli, confirmed that the project comes within the framework of a comprehensive plan to expand Infrastructure and improve logistics, and said that the new warehouses will contribute to accommodating large quantities of medicines and medical supplies, which will enhance the Fund’s ability to meet the needs of patients in various states of Sudan and ensure the availability of medicines in a sustainable manner.
The executing company pledged to complete the project according to the latest technical and engineering specifications while fully adhering to the agreed timetable, stressing that the project represents a successful model of partnership between the public and private sectors in order to serve the citizen.
The signing ceremony and handing over the sites witnessed the presence of a number of executive and technical leaders from both sides, where an official ceremony was held that reflected the importance of the project as a strategic leap in supporting the country’s medical supply infrastructure.
The project is expected to contribute to a major transformation in the pharmaceutical storage and distribution system, which will enhance citizens’ confidence in the Fund’s ability to fulfill its national mission of securing medicines and ensuring that they reach their beneficiaries in a timely manner.
