Playing on the Chord of Racism and Dancing to the Tunes of Regionalism

🖊️Khalaf Allah Alobaid Hussein
In a time tossed by the winds of discord and intertwined with the threads of conflict, the voice of fanaticism sometimes rises above the voice of wisdom, and the nation finds itself captive to conflicts that do not resemble it or its history. Then, talking about racism and regionalism becomes not an intellectual luxury, but an urgent necessity to salvage what remains of the shared spirit.
Playing on the Chord of Racism and dancing to the Tunes of Regionalism are melodies and hymns that bring neither joy nor happiness nor delight. They are nothing but a melody that always ends in bloodshed and scattered limbs. There is no victor in the arenas of hatred except devastation, and there is no greater loser than the wounded nation and the oppressed citizen.
History, both distant and recent, has taught us that nations that are divided on the basis of race, region, or color are destroying their own homes and opening their doors to the winds of discord until they destroy all that remains of unity and hope. Racism is nothing but a poison that seeps into minds before bodies, and regionalism is nothing but chains that restrict people’s progress, trapping them in endless conflicts.
God Almighty said in the Holy Quran: “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you.”
The Noble Prophet, upon him be the best of prayers and the purest of peace, said: “There is no difference between an Arab and a non-Arab, nor between a white person and a black person, except in piety.”
He pointed with his blessed hand to his heart, meaning that only God knows, and He is the All-Knowing of the secret and the public.
Our Sudanese poet, Muhammad Saeed Al-Abbasi, may God have mercy, forgiveness, and contentment upon him, said: “Partisanship is poison, so find an antidote for this poison, my people.”
The nation, dear reader, its pillars are not built with blood, nor its walls erected with hatred. Rather, it is built on love, justice, and fairness. The nation knows neither north nor south, east nor west. Only his loyal sons know him, who see him as one and indivisible, a home that accommodates everyone.
As for the ordinary citizen, the person who asks only for his daily sustenance and a dignified life, he is the first and last victim. He is uprooted from his land, displaced from his home, and deprived of his most basic rights, because he exists in a time when a group has chosen to sow discord instead of harmony.
Perhaps the enemies of our country, after having tried all kinds of weapons and equipment in their war against us, have deliberately used this lethal weapon of racism and regionalism to tear our beloved country apart so as to make it easier to pounce on it inch by inch and arm by arm.
Therefore, my fellow citizens, it is our collective responsibility to reject this absurdity and break this dark cycle. We must realize that racism brings nothing but loss, and that regionalism reaps nothing but hatred. Let us raise our voices together: No to division, no to diaspora, yes to unity, yes to peace, yes to the homeland, yes to a Sudan that encompasses us all. Spears refuse to break when they come together, and when they separate, they break as individuals. The homeland is not just a land, but a spirit by which we all live. Let us make our diversity a bridge across which we cross toward the future, not a wall that isolates us from one another. Let us realize that what unites us is much greater than what divides us, and that the homeland heals its wounds only through love, and rises from its slump only through unity. O sons of my homeland, sons of Sudan, unite. May God protect you and protect Sudan, which stands tall in its heavens, as it calls to you: Come to me, my sons and daughters, for I need you and I need love among you. So reject strife and be love and harmony. Be peace.
