Joint cooperation between the National Women’s Group and Qatar Red Crescent

Head of the Qatar Red Crescent Office in Sudan,Dr. Salah Al-Daak received Dr. Sarah Abu, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Women’s Group, and the accompanying delegation in a meeting on ways of joint cooperation to support Sudanese women under the current circumstances and beyond.

During the meeting, the delegation of the organization reviewed its future vision that aims to empower and develop women by enhancing their participation in decision-making, qualifying female cadres through sustainable specialized projects, transformational training, and organizing grassroots bodies in a way that contributes to raising their capacities to participate effectively in rural development and transforming the traditional lifestyle into a more productive modern style.

The delegation also expressed its deep thanks to the Qatar Red Crescent and the State of Qatar for their continuous support to Sudan، During the current humanitarian crisis, it is important to stress the significance of this support in strengthening the resilience of local communities. For his part, Dr. Al-Daak welcomed the delegation, praising the organization’s initiatives, and provided a detailed explanation of the Qatar Red Crescent’s interventions in Sudan, which include the fields of health, water, education, infrastructure, and emergency response to sudden disasters. He also pointed out the efforts of the Red Crescent in empowering vulnerable groups through small projects implemented in partnership with the relevant official authorities.

Dr. Al-Daak explained that all interventions are carried out according to proposals and projects that are subject to study and evaluation by the higher authorities, to be approved and implemented in the field according to the priorities and actual needs of the beneficiary communities.
