Sudan Welcomes UNSC’s Rejection of Militia’s Declaration of Parallel Authority

The Government of Sudan welcomed the press statement issued by the UN Security Council on August 13, 2025, in which it declared its complete rejection of the RSF militia’s declaration of a parallel government in Sudan. The Council considered this step a direct threat to the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan. The Council affirmed its unwavering commitment to Sudan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and warned of the consequences of the actions of the terrorist militia and its political alliance, as they threaten the future of Sudan and the region as a whole.

The Security Council recalled its Resolution 2736 (2024), in which it demanded that the Al-Dagalo militia lift the siege on El Fasher and cease fighting, and urged it to allow unhindered access for humanitarian aid. In the same context, the Security Council expressed its deep concern over the attacks on humanitarian operations by the terrorist militia and called on them to adhere to international humanitarian law and the principles of humanitarian action.

The Government of Sudan appreciates the rationale contained in the UN Security Council statement, which unequivocally condemned and rejected the actions of the RSF terrorist militia. It also notes previous similar statements issued by regional and international organizations, the UN Secretary-General, friendly countries, and other parties, which reflect the international consensus rejecting the RSF militia and its political alliance.

The Government of Sudan reiterates its firm commitment to preserving the safety, security, stability, unity, and sovereignty of the country and affirms its readiness to work with the international community in accordance with the principles and laws that serve the interests of the Sudanese people.
