Minister of Higher Education: The return of the University of Khartoum to its headquarters represents a new start for the process of higher education in Sudan

Within the framework of the state’s efforts to reconstruct and resume academic and research activities within higher education institutions in Khartoum State, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Mudawi Moussa, and his accompanying delegation paid a field visit to the University of Khartoum to review the progress of work, rehabilitate the university environment, and resume academic activity from within the university, in accordance with the directives of the Higher Committee to create the appropriate environment for the return of citizens to Khartoum State.

During the visit, the Minister inspected the progress of the university’s committees for cleanliness and the preparation of the university environment, praising the students’ initiatives and their contribution to the reconstruction project with cleanliness campaigns and the removal of rubble in order to provide a suitable climate for students, and praised the decision of the university administration led by Prof. Emad El-Din Ardeeb, the Rector of the University, to resume its activity from within its headquarters, stressing that the practice of higher education institutions from within the state of Khartoum represents a pivotal step towards the resumption of the educational process and a new start for the process of higher education and scientific research in the country.

Prof. Mudawi appealed to university students and graduates to adopt similar collective initiatives, which contribute to the continuity of study in higher education and the return of students, stressing that these efforts constitute a basic building block for building a stronger Sudan and an advanced higher education system.
