Jaber chairs meeting of the government facilities relocation committee

Member of the Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, chaired today a meeting of the committee for relocating government facilities and strategic sites in central Khartoum to alternative locations in Khartoum State, affiliated with the Higher Committee for Preparing the Environment for the Returned of Citizens to Khartoum State.

The head of the government facilities relocation committee, Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed El-Gali Ali Youssef, indicated that the committee submitted its final report on the proposal to relocate ministries and government institutions to alternative headquarters in Khartoum State. He explained that the committee will issue directives to all relevant government agencies to develop the necessary implementation measures.

His Excellency confirmed that the government facilities relocation committee has decided to evacuate the central Khartoum area extending from Nile Street in the north to Al-Qurashi Park in the south, and the Al-Muqran area in the west to the General Command in the east, with the aim of replanning it in a civilized manner. The committee recommended commencing the construction of a new administrative capital.
