Foreign Ministry issues a statemen

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying, “The Government of Sudan condemns in the strongest terms the treacherous attack carried out by the RSF terrorist militia at dawn yesterday, Saturday, August 30, 2025, on the Heglig oil fields, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of civilians working in the Heglig area.”
The statement added that the terrorist militia has been engaging in this barbaric behavior since the beginning of the rebellion in April 2023, targeting infrastructure and vital buildings that provide basic services to Sudanese citizens. However, these attacks have gone beyond harming national interests to targeting the interests of the Republic of South Sudan and other foreign companies that use the Heglig area to export South Sudan’s oil.
The Government of Sudan has continued to highlight the violations committed by the RSF militia against the Sudanese people, without the international community taking action. This has encouraged them to continue their violations, extending beyond Sudan to its neighbors, posing a security threat to the entire region. In this regard, and for security reasons, the Sudanese government may be forced to take the necessary measures to halt work in the field and evacuate workers from the area to protect their lives.
