Council of Ministers holds its first meeting in Khartoum

The civilian government of hope, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris, held its first official session in the capital, Khartoum, on Tuesday after its formation since the outbreak of the war in April 2023.

This meeting comes after the head of the Prime Minister announced the government’s plan to relocate to Khartoum in October or November, following a long period of managing the country’s affairs from the administrative capital, Port Sudan.

The meeting, which was held in the Khartoum State Government Secretariat Hall and attended by members of the government of hope, discussed the plans of all ministries for the current year, focusing on citizen services and livelihoods, reconstruction, citizen security, reconstruction, and enduring the voluntary return of citizens.
