Aqar inspects several service institutions in Khartoum State

The Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Aqar, inspected the progress of work at the Khartoum State sewage treatment plant, the Al-Muqran water station, the Wad Al-Bashir power station, and the headquarters of the Transitional Legislative Council, following their systematic sabotage by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia.

As part of his inspection visit to service institutions in Khartoum State, Aqar met with the Medical Corps Command and the management of Alia’a Hospital and was briefed on the administration’s arrangements to advance the health sector.

During his meeting with the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General (Police) Babiker Samra, he was briefed on the security and criminal situation in the state and the police forces’ strategy for establishing security and stability and enforcing the authority of the state.

During his meeting with a number of community figures in Khartoum State and a group of poets, artists, and dramatists, most notably Abdel Qader Salem and Al-Nour Al-Jilani, Aqar commended the steadfastness of artists and dramatists, their support for the armed forces, and their contribution to mending the social fabric and enriching the Sudanese conscience.

He emphasized that after the end of the war, the state will devote itself to societal reconciliation and rebuilding the Sudanese character with the aim of preserving Sudan’s unity, progress, and prosperity.

At the beginning of his visit, the Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council met with the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohamed Osman Al-Hussein. The meeting discussed several issues related to the security situation in the country.

The visit also included the General Command Headquarters of the Armed Forces, the Martyrs’ Cemetery, and a number of strategic facilities and sites, including bridges linking the outskirts of the capital.
