Minnawi: This is what transpired in the second session of the Democratic Bloc

We provide a summary of what transpired in the second session of the Democratic Bloc meeting, as reported by Commander Minni Arko Minawi, Governor of Darfur Region and Chairman of the Sudan Liberation Army Movement:

The Democratic Bloc held its second session to discuss the current political challenges facing our country, as an addendum to the meeting of the Political Committee.
We salute the steadfastness of the cities of El Fasher, Babanusa, Kadugli, and Dilling under the current circumstances.
We also condemn the unjust siege imposed by the Rapid Support Forces militia around El Fasher, which has continued for more than a year, preventing the arrival of food, medicine, and basic necessities. We express our condemnation of the international silence regarding the violations of these militias and their rejection of the truce proposed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and their failure to adhere to UN Security Council Resolution No. 2736 issued on June 13, 2024. The meeting affirms that negative international interference in Sudanese affairs has contributed to the outbreak of war.
It also highlights the importance of Sudanese political and societal forces developing a roadmap for a solution with pure national will, in response to the aspirations and hopes of the Sudanese people. We also point out the need to correctly define the conflict, as a rebellion by the Rapid Support Forces militia against the Sudanese state.
We welcome the statement of the US Secretary of State regarding Sudan, and we commend the efforts of Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United States of America in resolving the Sudanese crisis. We also emphasize
We reiterate our firm position that the UAE is not suitable as a mediator or to play a role in achieving peace in Sudan. We also renew our support for the role of neighboring countries that stood by the Sudanese people.
We commend Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Eritrea for their clear support for the Sudanese people in their quest for the unity and sovereignty of the Sudanese state.
We extend our thanks to all countries that supported the will of the Sudanese people and contributed to alleviating their suffering by providing humanitarian aid.
