Cooperation between the Ministry of Social Development and AcoGaps

Ms. Malak Dafalsayed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, met with Dr. Mahmoud Zain El Abidine, Director General of the African Center for Governance, Peace, and Transition Studies (AcoGaps), in the presence of Dr. Abdel Moneim Awad, Director of the Ministry’s External Cooperation Department.
Zain El Abidine provided an overview of the Center’s activities in supporting and strengthening national efforts in social and development work and in assisting the state’s efforts in voluntary return, early recovery, and reconstruction.
He highlighted the Center’s technical support for national institutions, civil society organizations, and international organizations, which includes organizing a number of high-level events, providing consultations and research, and sharing successful experiences on the continent and internationally. He added that the Center will implement a number of training courses and workshops in the states of Khartoum, Al-Jazirah, and Sennar to support voluntary return, recovery, and reconstruction for sustainable stability. The meeting addressed issues of social protection and social safety nets, microfinance, and livelihoods, in addition to issues of psychosocial support and social responsibility.
For her part, Ms. Malak Dafalsayed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, praised the Center’s programs and initiatives in supporting humanitarian and development work, emphasizing the Ministry’s interest in strengthening partnerships with civil society and mobilizing community will for a secure and stable homeland.
