Army Shoots Down Militia Drones Targeting Meroe for Sixth Time

This morning (Tuesday), the Sudanese Armed Forces’ ground defenses shot down several drones targeting Meroe locality in Northern State.

A statement issued by the 19th Infantry Division of Meroe said that the division’s ground defenses were able to shoot down several drones launched by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia, which attempted to target the 19th Infantry Division’s headquarters and the Meroe Dam.

The statement affirmed the 19th Infantry Division’s readiness to confront any threats to Northern State, stressing that repeated attempts to target civilian infrastructure will not succeed in achieving their objectives, and that the army continues to protect its headquarters and secure strategic areas.

In five previous attempts, Rapid Support Forces militia drones targeted infrastructure in several Sudanese states, disrupting power stations and vital sites and causing damage to infrastructure, agricultural projects, and electricity and water services.
