SFPA -River Nile State Branch – Saturday, June 28, 2025

The regular meeting of the Community Protection Network for Women’s Safe Spaces Centers was held today at the SFPA’s headquarters in Atbara, under the auspices and supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs, River Nile State, with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and under the auspices of the Sudanese Family Planning Association.
The Association presented an overview of the center’s activities, focusing on support and empowerment services for women and girls, family counseling, and protection from gender-based violence.

Recommendations
1. Expand the scope of local partnerships.
2. Adopt a secure referral mechanism to accelerate response.
3. Provide psychosocial support to women and girls.
4. Conduct periodic assessments of the quality of services provided in safe spaces.
5. A follow-up meeting will be held at the end of August 2025.
