Prime Minister stresses the necessity of developing Gezira Scheme

Prime Minister, Dr. Kamel Idris, emphasized the necessity of developing and upgrading Gezira Scheme to achieve self-sufficiency and export, stressing that the agriculture file requires a lot of work during the next stage, calling for double efforts to achieve agricultural and food development in the country.
The Prime Minister, when meeting in his office in Port Sudan, was briefed by the Governor of the Gezira Scheme, Ibrahim Mustafa, on the overall situation in the project.
The governor of Gezira Scheme said in press statements that the Prime Minister knew the most important needs of the project to speed up the launch, and said, “We found the full support of the Prime Minister by providing everything that can be provided for the success of the summer season.”
Ibrahim Mustafa explained that the Prime Minister will visit the project during the coming period to find out in all cases, announcing the availability of farmers’ needs for seeds, starting from the beginning of this week. He said, “The Prime Minister informed us of the urgent challenges that are required to be addressed at the beginning of the season, and the cultivation of summer lug crops in all sectors of the project.” The governor broadcasts assurances that all the problems that hinder the work will be resolved with the support of the Prime Minister, indicating that there are new aids, equipment and mechanisms that will enter the project.
