Militias Loot Property of Those Fleeing El Fasher

The Sudanese Army’s Sixth Infantry Division in El Fasher accused the Rapid Support Forces militia of committing the murder of displaced persons fleeing El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, to the Garni area west of the city.

The division’s media outlet reported in its daily news report on Sunday that “Rapid Support Forces looted the property of fleeing displaced people, killed ten animals carrying them, and then forced the remaining refugees to return to the city, issuing death threats.”

The prolonged siege of El Fasher by the Rapid Support Forces has led hundreds of civilians to flee to surrounding villages and towns in an attempt to escape artillery and ground attacks, as well as environmental and health deterioration.

The siege of El Fasher, which has lasted more than a year, has caused a living crisis within the city, with food supplies becoming scarce, markets emptied of supplies, and both relief and commercial food supplies halted.
