Dr. Shulgami Partakes in the Ninth Conference of Honorary Consuls of the Slovak Republic Abroad

The Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Sudan, Dr. Nasreldin Shulgami, participated including the Ninth Conference of Honorary Consuls of the Slovak Republic Abroad which took place in Bratislava on June 4, 2025.

In his comments on the event, Dr. Shulgami posted the following:

“I was honored to participate in the Ninth Conference of Honorary Consuls of the Slovak Republic Abroad, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 4 to 6 June in Bratislava, the capital.
The first session of the conference was addressed by Mr. Juraj Blanar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who thanked the consuls for the important work they continue to provide for Slovakia.
He reviewed the conference’s objectives, which are to strengthen economic, cultural, and social relations with the countries in which they work.
The 116 participants then visited the President of the Republic, Mr. Petr Belligrini, who welcomed the attendees, praised their significant role, and expressed the readiness of state institutions to provide all necessary assistance to strengthen relations with the peoples they represent. The program included open meetings with leaders of state institutions and the private sector.

A Business Forum was then held, attended by more than fifty Slovak companies from most sectors of industry, trade, and services.
I met with several companies operating in the infrastructure sector, such as electricity, solar energy, water purification, and equipment companies. Airports, health supplies, water harvesting, etc.
A number of companies were pleased to offer their products and services for the reconstruction of Sudan after the war.
The conference concluded with a visit to the town of Trncanske Teplice, famous in Europe for its therapeutic mineral springs, surrounded by a number of modern health resorts.
It is worth noting that Slovakia offers two scholarships for postgraduate studies each year, and currently there are 15 Sudanese envoys in various fields of engineering, agriculture, medical laboratories, forestry, and the environment.”
