Al-Burhan agrees to a humanitarian truce in El Fasher, and Guterres welcomes the appointment of Kamil Idris

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah qAl-Burhan, agreed to the call of UN Secretary-General António Guterres to declare a one-week humanitarian truce in El Fasher locality in support of UN efforts and to facilitate the delivery of relief to thousands of citizens trapped there.
Al-Burhan stressed the importance of implementing the relevant Security Council resolutions.
Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council received a phone call from the UN Secretary-General, who welcomed the appointment of Dr. Kamil Idris as Prime Minister.
A press release issued by the Transitional Sovereignty Council Media (Friday) stated that Guterres affirmed the United Nations’ support for this step towards completing the civilian transition.
During the phone call, Al-Burhan affirmed his seriousness in completing the formation of a government of independents that would assume the full powers of the executive body.
