The Council of the League of Arab States condemns rebel militia attacks on vital facilities in Sudan

The Council of the League of Arab States at the level of permanent delegates, chaired by the representative of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ambassador Amjad Adaileh, President of the current session of the League Council, listened in an emergency meeting on Thursday to a briefing from Ambassador Imad al-Din Mustafa Adawi, Sudan’s representative to the League, on the developments in Sudan following the targeting of a number of vital facilities in the Red Sea and Kassala states. Sudanese Ambassador Imad al-Din Mustafa Adawi indicated that the targeting affected basic service facilities, including drinking water, Energy, electricity, oil, and strategic facilities. The Council condemned the rebel militia’s attacks on vital facilities in Sudan and directed specialized Arab organizations to provide urgent humanitarian support and assistance in rehabilitating damaged facilities. Ambassador Adawi expressed Sudan’s appreciation, both government and people, for the honorable positions of Arab countries and their support for the Sudanese people and their national institutions.
