Sudan Welcomes Condemnation of External Aggression Against Country

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the condemnations issued by sister and friendly countries and regional and international organizations of the external aggression the country is facing through airstrikes targeting vital civilian facilities, airports, and ports, which represent the lifeline for citizens.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “It has become clear that the goal of this aggression is to destroy the Sudanese state, transform the country into an uninhabitable place, prevent the return of displaced persons and refugees, and prolong the war, after the armed forces and supporting forces liberated most of the lands previously occupied by the terrorist Janjaweed militia.”

The Ministry noted with appreciation the evidence highlighted by some statements that these attacks have a clear external dimension, as indicated by the European Union statement.
The Ministry also commends the strong position expressed by the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, which primarily deals with security issues in the region, as well as the statement of the United States of America.

The Ministry reiterates that these attacks threaten regional security and the safety of navigation in the Red Sea.
Therefore, what is required is not just statements of condemnation, but effective action against the militia’s regional sponsor, which has been proven to have provided the strategic drones and other weapons used in the attacks, and to have brought in mercenaries who operate these drones and actively fight with the militia.
Amnesty International’s recent report, supported by field images of the projectiles fired by the drones, confirmed that their source was the UAE.
