Sudanese cultural heritage documentation services are essential tools for preserving cultural identity and enhancing community awareness of the importance of heritage. This documentation encompasses a wide range of items, such as folk arts, traditional crafts, customs and traditions, and historical sites. By organizing workshops and lectures, local communities can learn about their cultural heritage, fostering pride and a sense of belonging.
Wehbe Abdel Fattah Abdel Rahman, Director of the Nile Valley Center for Documentation and Ethnographic Studies, was selected as a member of the Advisory Committee on Cultural Heritage of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). This selection comes in recognition of his distinguished efforts in the fields of documentation and heritage preservation, as well as his scientific and cultural contributions that have strengthened the Center’s position at both the local and international levels. The Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee is one of the specialized committees of IFLA, which supports policies and practices related to the preservation of documentary and cultural heritage and strengthens the capacities of libraries and related institutions in this field.

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions , working with libraries and information services, will assist people throughout the world to create and participate in an equitable information/knowledge society and to exercise their rights of freedom of access to information and freedom of expression in their daily lives.
We must be proud of this achievement, which reflects the excellence of our cadres and their active contributions in international forums, as well as their successes and dedication in the service of human heritage and culture.
