Completion of the First Phase of the Republican Palace Rehabilitation Project

The Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed El-Gali Ali Youssef, confirmed the completion of the first phase of the Republican Palace rehabilitation project. The inventory and security operations have been completed, and 90% of the cleaning work is complete. The work is expected to be completed before the Eid al-Adha holiday.

For his part, the head of the inventory committee indicated that the committee began its work and inspected the rehabilitation operations after documenting the destruction caused by the rebel militia at the palace, the damage to the building and equipment, and the systematic and deliberate destruction of the infrastructure and the historical and national heritage, particularly the destruction of the old Republican Palace, the museum, and the library. He confirmed that the gardens’ rehabilitation process has already begun, in accordance with the directives of the Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council.

He pointed out that the second phase of the rehabilitation and maintenance process will resume after the Eid Al-Adha holiday, stressing their determination to restore the palace to its former glory by implementing and completing all phases of the project.
