Al-Tahami Al-Zein Hajar Sworn in Before Al-Burhan as Minister of Education

Dr. Al-Tahami Al-Zein Hajar Mohamed was sworn in today before the Head of the Sovereignty Council Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, as Minister of Education. The oath was attended by the Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed Al-Gali Ali Youssef, and the Head of the Judiciary in the Red Sea State, representing the Chief Justice.
Following the oath, the Minister of Education expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Head of the Sovereignty Council for the confidence he placed in him to assume this position, given the current challenges facing the country, and to support the education process.

He praised the great sacrifices made by the armed forces, other regular forces, and mobilized personnel in confronting the RSF terrorist militia and achieving victories in the battle for dignity and pride.
He affirmed the Ministry’s support for the armed forces in preserving Sudan’s unity, stability, and territorial integrity.

His Excellency pointed out that education is a fundamental pillar of sustainable development, emphasizing his commitment to quality education, building an advanced and developed education system that meets the needs of society, and creating equal educational opportunities for all.

Dr. Al-Tahami noted that the Ministry’s future vision is to rebuild and improve the infrastructure of all educational institutions destroyed by the terrorist militia, and to build modern schools equipped with advanced educational technologies, in coordination with educational partners at home and abroad.

He added that he will work to keep pace with global developments in curricula, utilize technology in the Ministry’s various departments, and develop e-learning. He affirmed his support and sponsorship of teachers and their training in digital transformation at the Ministry.

Dr. Al-Tahami emphasized the importance of technical education as a fundamental pillar in the country’s renaissance. He added that he will tour several states to assess the extent of the damage to educational institutions, announcing the relocation of the Ministry’s headquarters to Khartoum in the coming period to operate from within Khartoum State.

The Minister pointed out that committees have been formed to host 6,700 students from Darfur states in eastern Chad to enable them to take the Sudanese Certificate exams for the 2024 batch.
