The National Nutrition Program at the Federal Ministry of Health began this morning at the Reproductive Health Hall in Kassala City. A workshop to develop the guidelines for the integrated nutrition intervention campaign is being held within the framework of improving maternal and child health services during emergencies, in coordination with the various departments of the ministry and in the presence of representatives from partner organizations, led by UNICEF.

Acting Director of the Program, Rania Ahmed Daoud, stated in a press statement after the opening session that the workshop, which lasts for five days, aims to develop guidelines. This initiative came as a result of the recommendations from the integrated campaign that was organized last February in three localities in Khartoum State (Omdurman, Karary, and Ombada), with the participation of various departments of the ministry, including reproductive health, child health, maternal health, health promotion, combating neglected diseases, and immunization, as integration between departments leads to reducing the burden of malnutrition and the well-being of children to enjoy a decent and good life, as well as for mothers. pregnant and lactating women, and come up with a detailed plan for the next campaign, which targets a number of states, as well as the development of a unified training manual, and ownership of the states.
