River Nile Governor inspects the IDPs camp of the targeted expatriates and condemns the brutal militia crime

Dr. Mohamed El-Badawy Abdel-Majed Abu Qarun, the Governor of River Nile State, condemned the barbaric crime committed by the rebel Rapid Support Militia at dawn today against the IDPs camp in Edl-Damir, which killed (11) innocent citizens, most of them Women, children and elderly.
This came during an inspection visit by the governor to the scene, accompanied by Major General Yasser Ali Bashir, director of the state’s General Intelligence and Security Service. in the state. The governor said that the camp that was targeted includes two IDPs workers from the railways and families of the weak and simple segments, noting that this heinous crime is added to the series of crimes committed by the militia, which is stripped of human and moral values.
He stressed that this behavior reflects the criminal nature of this militia, calling on the international community and human rights organizations to assume their responsibilities in documenting these violations and holding the perpetrators accountable.
The governor also directed to deport the camp from its current location to a safer place, in order to preserve the safety of the displaced. For his part, Mohamed Ahmed Hamdo, Executive Director of Damer locality, denounced the criminal incident that targeted innocents, stressing that the locality will make every effort to protect the citizens and prosecute the perpetrators.
In a related context, the governor, accompanied by the director of the General Intelligence Service and the state’s health minister, the security and executive leaders in Atbara locality, inspected the conditions of the wounded in the police hospital in Atbara, and was assured of the provision of treatment services to them, praising the quick efforts that the medical staff did it to help the injured.
He also visited the mortuary at Atbara Hospital, to find out the arrangements for preparing the bodies, where he had mercy on the souls of the martyrs and wished a speedy recovery for the wounded.
