IGAD Executive Secretary, African Union Commission Chairperson discuss regional peace and security challenges

African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Yusuf and IGAD Executive Secretary Workneh Gebeyehu discussed regional peace and security challenges, particularly the situation in Sudan and South Sudan.
They also agreed to coordinate closely to address outstanding issues to ensure stability in the region.
After the meeting IGAD Executive Secretary posted the following:
Pleased to convene today with H.E. @Ymahmoudali, Chairperson of the African Union Commission. Our discussion focused on pressing regional peace and security challenges, with particular attention to the situations in Sudan and South Sudan.

We reaffirmed our shared commitment to work closely together in addressing these critical issues, ensuring a coordinated and united approach to promote stability and the well-being of our region.
