Governor of Darfur Region, Mini Arko. Minawi posted the following in his Facebook page:

To our great people in all parts of our beloved homeland, the homeland and its citizens are facing grave challenges as a result of the selfishness and ambitions of some of the sons of this homeland who believe that the homeland belongs to them and that they inherited it from their ancestors. I am not one of those who spread hate speech and division among the sons of the authentic Sudanese people. I will always speak the truth and fight for one united Sudan. I firmly believe in equal citizenship, justice and freedom. Today we are facing a battle that we, as a government and a people, have named the #Battle_of_Dignity, as we seek to liberate the country from the filth of the Janjaweed militia. Therefore, we must all stand together behind our armed and joint forces and the popular resistance so that the people of besieged El Fasher, the afflicted El Obeid and the wounded Babanusa can enjoy security and safety. After that, we will leave it to our people to choose who loves this generous homeland and who aspires to sit on the skulls of martyrs and widows despite all the violence the people have faced.
