Sudan should take advantage of the AU mechanisms to implement transitional justice, says Ambassador Salah Hammaad

Secretary General of Good Governance in the African Union, Ambassador Salah Hammaad, called for benefiting from the mechanisms of the African Union in favor of the state.
During a lecture entitled African Human Rights Mechanisms, organized by the African Center for Governance Peace and Transition Studies (AcoGaps),in Port Sudan, Hammaad added that allowing the African Commission for Human and Peoples’ Rights to visit Sudan, reach the camps for the displaced, and hear the victims have a great impact, considering the good rreputation of the AU Commissionf globally, which makes its report on the human rights situation in Sudan in the interest of Sudan.
Salah called on Sudanese civil society organizations to communicate with the committees and mechanisms of the African Union to reverse the violations against the Sudanese people, especially women and children, and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the African Union to address the effects resulting from these violations, emphasizing the importance of implementing the transitional justice system, which has become one of the important projects for any country that has emerged from a crisis or is about to have a dispute, adding that turning the pages of a conflict without transitional justice is a time bomb.
Salah stressed that what Sudan has achieved with regard to the rights and welfare of the child, no country in Africa has been able to achieve, especially the full commitment to submitting annual reports.
