Sudanese Consumer Protection Agency
The National Consumer Protection Agency joins international and global and regional consumer protection movements in celebrating World Consumer Rights Day, which was launched globally in 1983 to raise awareness of consumer rights, protection, and empowerment worldwide.
World Consumer Rights Day, observed annually on March 15, serves as an essential reminder of the need to uphold consumer rights and protection.
The day is an opportunity to promote the basic rights of all.
The theme for World Consumer Rights Day 2025 is, ‘A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles.’
This theme reflects the urgent need to make sustainable and healthier lifestyle choices available, accessible, and affordable for all consumers – while ensuring that these transitions uphold people’s basic rights and needs.
This year’s campaign highlights the pathways needed to achieve sustainable lifestyles and call for stronger consumer protection and empowerment worldwide.
The theme means making sustainable lifestyle and health choices available and accessible at reasonable prices to all consumers, while ensuring the preservation of citizens’ basic rights and needs.

In light of the dire circumstances of war imposed on Sudanese citizens, we express our celebration of this international occasion by appealing to Consumers International and all consumer organizations around the world to demonstrate their support for the people of Sudan and to alert United Nations organizations to the tragedies they are suffering as a result of displacement, asylum, and the lack of basic needs such as food, drink, shelter, and medical care.
We call on them to strengthen the role of the agencies working in consumer protection in Sudan, especially the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, which is undertaking significant tasks in the most difficult circumstances.
We will work with the state to complete the structures of the Consumer Protection Agency so that it can play its assigned role in implementing the Consumer Protection Law, along with other partners, especially in these tragic wartime circumstances.
In this situation, all state regulatory and media agencies, organizations, associations, and businesspeople must unite to fulfill their national role and responsibility toward the oppressed citizen.
As the world around us celebrates World Consumer Rights Day, we call on all international organizations to stand with the greatest humanitarian disaster facing the Sudanese people.
