Imminent Rehabilitation of Khartoum International Airport

As part of the efforts to restart Khartoum International Airport after its recovery, the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, issued a decision To form a specialized technical committee to assess the damage and develop a comprehensive vision of the rehabilitation process.
The committee will officially start its work after the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, and will submit a detailed report to the competent authorities on the extent of the damage and the steps required to restart the airport.
In an important step to support the operation, the Sudanese Minister of Finance, Jibril Ibrahim, revealed that Sudan has submitted a request for support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to contribute to the restart of the airport.
Khartoum had received a high-level Saudi delegation that included representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Saudi Development Fund and the King Salman Relief Center. During the visit, Sudan’s urgent needs were discussed in the air transport and infrastructure sector, with great cooperation expectations to support the rehabilitation and realization of the airport soon.
