Health Minister Discusses Strengthening Emergency Care and Ambulance Services in Sudan

The Acting Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, met with the Director of the National Agency for Emergency Care and Ambulance, Dr. Mohieddin Hassan, and the agency’s team in Port Sudan to discuss the progress of work in the agency and the priorities of the national ambulance project, as well as Sudan’s accession to the African Union for Road Safety.

A detailed report on the Agency’s activities and achievements was reviewed, and the Minister praised the Agency for organizing training workshops and equipping hospitals to deal with mass casualties, stressing the Ministry’s commitment to supporting national ambulance projects and strengthening coordination with partners at the national and local levels. He also emphasized the importance of operating first aid on national roads and the integration of roles among all service providers.

Dr. Mohieldin gave a presentation on the performance of the Agency, pointing out the challenges facing the National Ambulance Project, stressing the importance of securing the necessary funding. He also revealed the ongoing arrangements to hold a workshop with partners to enhance the success of the project.
