Foreign Minister participates in the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference
Dr. Ali Youssef, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, provided an update to the extraordinary meeting of then Council of Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference on the latest developments in the situation in Sudan and the victories achieved by the Sudanese Armed Forces, supported by the support of the Sudanese people, as the good news of the great victory approaches.
He praised the strong positions expressed by the international community and friendly and sisterly countries, the most recent of which was the statement issued by the Security Council on March 5, rejecting the threat to the unity of Sudan and the existing legitimacy therein through the formation of a parallel authority from the terrorist Rapid Support Militia and its allies, under the supervision of the regional sponsor of the militia.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed Sudan’s support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. He explained in his speech before the meeting that Sudan is following the latest developments in the situation in Palestine, noting the centrality of the Palestinian issue. He called on the member states and the General Secretariat of the Organization to continue to confront these serious attacks on the Palestinian people and the call for their displacement from their land, and to activate the mechanisms stipulated in the relevant resolutions of the Organization to move at all levels to reflect the positions of the Organization in this regard.
Ali Youssef, Minister of Foreign Affairs, headed the Sudanese delegation participating in the extraordinary meeting of the Council, which was held today in Jeddah at the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, to discuss the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people and the calls for their displacement from their land.
The participating Sudanese delegation included Ambassador Dafallah Al-Hajj Ali Osman, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sudan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ambassador Anas Al-Tayeb Al-Jailani, Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and First Secretary Youssef Siddiq Abu Agla, the Organization’s file officer at the Consulate General.
