Editorial: Reading from the same old book!

The great physicist Albert Einstein is reported to have once said “insanity is making the same mistakes and expecting different results.”

This is what is exactly happening in Sudan.
In the ninetieth of last century and during Al-Bashir’s rule the opposition entities formed what was called the National Democratic Alliance which inculded
many parties, headed by the Democratic Unionist Party, the National Umma Party, the Communist Party, the SPLM, Baath Party, and others, despite their long history of grudges against each other, and each one of them is waiting to pounce on the other.
Those parties failed to throw away the regime in Khartoum and its role came to an end by the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in 2005.
Now, after three decades have passed, the parties have returned to their role and reading from the same old book.
This time they emerged under several bannars e.g. Forces of Freedom and Change ((FFC), Taggadum, Somood etc. claiming that they represent the Sudanese people.
They signed a charter in Nairobi as representatives of the Sudanese people who are suffering the consequences of the war erupted by the RSF against the state.
The question that poses itself is how can we talk about the 56 state and two signatories represent the National Unionist Party and the National Umma Party? How can they say that the Rapid Support Forces are made by Al-Bashir’s regime and Islamists, while they embrace it, defend it, and celebrate it.
So this a gathering will never succeed because it combined contradictions
Now, after the great victories of the Sudanese army, calls have appeared for a parallel government.
It has become clear that the war on Sudan will not end with victory on the ground only, but the war will continue in different forms and types.. Therefore, the Sudanese must stand as one and unite their internal front to confront all the existential threats to this people who deserve to have a homeland to be proud of and live in safely.
