Clashes between the SPLA and the militia South Kordofan

On Friday, February 15, an armed clash occurred between a faction of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA)and a force affiliated with the rebel Rapid Support Militia near the Kartala area in the locality of Habila, in the South Kordofan State.
According to identical sources, the force affiliated with the RSF militia in the area consisted of two combat vehicles carrying a shipment of drugs (Bango) and three motorcycles, coming from the areas of Al-Dulaimah, south of Deleng, with the aim of transporting drugs to the west of Abu Karshola, and then smuggling it to the locality of Abu Jebeiha.
When the force reached the Cavier area, it clashed with the SPLA platoon stationed there, killing two militia members and wounding three others, in addition to the destruction and burning of two motorcycles.
The clash lasted for half an hour before the SPLA forces moved to join its command in the Kartala region, in anticipation of a retaliatory attack by the militia.
The sources added that the militia force was unable to complete its mission and cross into the village of Redina, and had to return to its concentration in the west of Habila locality.
It is worth noting that some of the people of the allied region of the militia in the state of South Kordofan are active in drug trafficking and smuggling.
