Al-Burhan directs reconstituting the Joint National Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies

Head of the Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan issued a decision today to reconstitute the Joint National Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies headed by Lieutenant General Al-Sadig Ismail Mahmoud, and the membership of each of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Health, Social Development, Federal Governance, Agriculture and Forests, Culture, Information and Transport, in addition to representatives of the relevant agencies, institutions and bodies.

The committee is responsible for ensuring the technical and logistical readiness of the crossings in terms of facilities and workers and close coordination between the ministries, bodies and relevant institutions in order to facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid, and to prepare detailed lists that determine the country’s humanitarian needs in accordance with the state’s higher policies and plans.
The committee is also responsible for determining the national strategic objectives of the humanitarian response plan and sharing them with the United Nations organizations and national and international organizations, preparing a matrix of projects to be implemented and their costs, approving them with the United Nations organizations and their partners, and following up on their implementation.
