National Accounts Bureau receives the final accounts of the Northern State for the year 2024

The National Accounts Bureau received today the final accounts of the Northern State for the year 2024 as the second state to submit its final accounts to the Bureau. The Director General of the National Accounts Bureau, Mustafa Ali Youssef, praised the government of the Northern State and the submission of its final accounts and its interest in accounting work, and the regular work carried out by the Ministry of Finance in the Northern State.
He said during the meeting to submit the national accounts that submitting the final accounts in light of the exceptional war conditions that the country is going through is a great achievement, praising the government’s efforts to stabilize the financial and accounting situation in the country.
He said that the importance of closing the final accounts has an effective role in making positive economic decisions.
Mustafa Youssef called for the need to pay attention to accounting and financial work, and called on state governments to the importance of organization, training and quality control, demanding that the training axis be placed among the priorities, and to advance the profession and the importance of convergence of ideas. The Director of the National Accounts Bureau confirmed the Bureau’s undertaking to carry out all its duties towards the states in receiving the final accounts, revealing the establishment of a forum for directors of the accounts bureaus with the National Accounts Bureau to keep pace with development and train cadres in the fields of accounting and auditing.
For her part, the Director of the Accounts Closing Department in the Northern State, Arij Fadouli Atayatallah, confirmed that the delivery of the final accounts was done through the efforts of all accountants and financial departments in the state government in accordance with the laws, regulations and accounting controls and without any violations. She said that the procedures for closing the final accounts were a major challenge for the state despite the budget being set in war conditions and the exceptional circumstances that the country is experiencing, which affected the general budget and achieved revenues for the year 2024.
A success that exceeded the budget for the year 2023, and included the financial appropriation for government revenues, assets, spending, subsidies and support, revealing the existence of a surplus in the budget for the year 2024 after covering the general spending of the state, stressing the commitment of the Northern State to the process of control and oversight and the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance over public money.
