Important Statement

Dear Citizens
Dear Citizens of South Sudan
With deep concern, we have followed the criminal incident in Wad Madani, Gezira State.
The Government of Sudan has issued statements of condemnation and denunciation categorically condemning the unjustified barbaric attacks that claimed innocent lives.
Accordingly, Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, Head of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, immediately established a fact-finding committee to investigate the incidents.
The perpetrators will be questioned and brought to justice and accountability.
I call on the affected communities within Sudan and South Sudan to maintain calm, despite understandable emotions, and avoid being drawn into further criminal acts of revenge.
The Government of Sudan appreciates the immediate intervention of the Government of South Sudan to protect the lives of innocent Sudanese civilians from the rampant incidents that occurred in Juba and elsewhere in the wake of the Madani events.
No one is allowed to take the law into their own hands.
May God protect Sudan, South Sudan and our people.
Malik Agar Ayre
Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council
