The recent tours undertaken by the Minister of Health, Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, to the Northern State and the River Nile State, signify a remarkable achievement in the face of the severe challenges currently afflicting Sudan due to ongoing conflict.
These visits are not merely ceremonial; they represent a concerted effort to ensure the continuity and enhancement of healthcare services amidst these tumultuous times.
During his tours, Ibrahim has inaugurated several health institutions and centers, thereby addressing the urgent healthcare needs of the populace. His commitment to public health is demonstrated by his unwavering presence on the ground, rather than remaining ensconced in the relative safety of his office. He diligently travels from one state to another, closely monitoring and assessing the healthcare situation, particularly in light of the alarming outbreak of diseases such as malaria, typhoid, and dengue fever, among others.
These proactive measures are critical, as they not only aim to mitigate the effects of these diseases but also seek to inspire hope and stability within communities deeply affected by the war. Ibrahim’s actions underscore the significance of resilient health leadership during times of crisis.
The Ministry of Health is working with organizations to provide medicine and humanitarian aid to institutions, hospitals and shelters under very difficult circumstances.
The announcing plans declared by the Minister for a vital road project to facilitate improved access to the hospital is considered a great step towards developing health institutions .
