Sudan Participates in the 3rd meeting of the National Drug Regulatory Authoritiesin the OIC countries

The Secretary-General of the National Council for Drugs and Poisons, Dr. Ali Babiker, participated in the third meeting of the heads of national drug regulatory authorities in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was held from 16-17 December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Secretary-General of the Council, Dr. Ali Babiker, stressed that the meeting discussed a large number of papers and experiences of some countries and the report of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, also discussed several recommendations, including expanding coordination between regulatory bodies and systems and increasing support for countries to develop their regulatory systems and training, pointing out that the meeting concluded with several recommendations called the “Riyadh Declaration”.

In the same context, the Secretary General of the Council, Dr. Ali Babiker, met with the directors of the Food and Drug Authorities of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Somalia, Senegal, Pakistan, Turkey, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Uganda and the Sultanate of Oman with the aim of developing bilateral relations with those countries.

The Secretary General also met with the representative of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, where he presented during the meeting an explanation of the Council’s projects
