Khartoum Health launches a major campaign to combat malaria, dengue and environmental sanitation in 4 localities

The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State, Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Muhammad Al-Amin, launched this morning a major campaign to sanitize the environment and combat malaria, dengue fever and watery diarrhea in the localities of Omdurman, Karari, Umm Badda and Khartoum North localities under the patronage of Ahmed Osman Hamza, and the Director General of Khartoum State.
The Director General and his deputy, Dr. Ahmed Al-Bashir Fadlallah, Director of the General Administration of Preventive Medicine, inspected all logistical and technical preparations for the campaign and the implementing human cadres at its launch site in Karari locality.
The campaign will continue for a month to cover all safe areas in the four localities.
Dr. Fath Al-Rahman pledged to remove all obstacles so that the campaign achieves tangible results in reducing epidemic diseases.
Dr. Bashir Adam Ismail, Director of Malaria Administration in Khartoum State, announced that the campaign works in 3 axes, which are combating the aquatic stages of mosquitoes, spraying ponds and swamps, fogging with fog machines, and spraying with sprayers outside homes.
For her part, Atifa Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Director of the Environment Administration, said that the campaign for environmental sanitation includes water by daily reading at the main stations daily and distributing chlorine to homes and shelters.
The campaign works in the food axis by monitoring all places where food is manufactured and sold and environmental sanitation, in addition to targeting the campaign, in addition to sanitation, by combating flies in 10 main markets in the targeted localities, indicating that fly control is done by digging, spraying pesticides, and fogging.
