Sudanese Ambassador to Djibouti holds Press Conference

Sudanese Ambassador to Djibouti, Mohamed Saeed Hassan Hamad held a press conference and briefing on the developments in Sudan and the violations of the rebel Rapid Support Militia this morning, Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Sheraton Hotel.
The conference was attended by the Dean and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Djibouti and representatives of international organizations and official media outlets in Djibouti (Radio and Television Djibouti, Al-Qarn newspaper in Arabic, La Nation newspaper in French, and the Djibouti News Agency).

The Ambassador provided a detailed explanation of the violations committed by the militia since it launched its war on the state and the citizen in April 2023 until now, focusing on the recent violations and massacres committed by the militia against defenseless citizens in a number of areas of Gezira State, in addition to the recent attacks on villages north of Kutum in North Darfur.

The Ambassador stressed that the UAE is behind financing the militia’s war on Sudan, while its western neighbor, Chad, is facilitating the passage of mercenaries and weapons to all regions of Sudan, especially Darfur and Kordofan states, pointing out that the UAE’s support for the militia with weapons, money and equipment has prolonged the war, which requires pressure from the international community to stop this support.
The Ambassador thanked the countries that condemned the militia’s violations in Gezira State, and asked the participating countries to classify the Rapid Support Militia as a terrorist entity, as its crimes committed in Sudan and among the Sudanese are sufficient to classify it among the terrorist entities in the world.
