Editorial: I Can’t Breathe!

“I can’t breathe”, the last words spoken by George Floyd on May 25, 2020, are echoing everywhere in Sudan today.

I can’t breathe because the international community is giving a blind eye to the RSF militia, atrocities, especially these days in Gezira State.

I can’t breathe because the UNSG expressed grave concern on what is going on in Sudan without asking the UNSC member states to take decisive action against the RSF militia.

I can’t breathe because it is apparent that our government lacks vision, let alone a clear manifesto.

I can’t breathe because rhe prices of the essential commodities are sky-rocketing and inflation rate record about 119 % according to the IMF data, without anything practical step Frome the government to deal with it, let alone controlling the black markets and its brokers.

I can’t breathe because after Sudan was the safest place on the globe, now it became the most dangerous place for its people, let alone foreigners.

I can’t breathe because more than seven thousand children are out of school due the ongoing devastative war.

I can’t breathe because the RSF militia is continuing its massacres in Gezira state state and other areas on ethnic bases a matter that could be classified as genocide cleansing without any action from the concerned international organizations.
