Charge d’Affaires in Rwanda meets Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in Parliament

Ambassador Khalid Musa, Chargé d’Affaires in Rwanda, met this morning with MP Ms. Hope Tumkundu, Chairperson of the Foreign Relations, Cooperation and Security Committee in the Rwandan Parliament, in the presence of her deputy, MP Dr. Jean Claude Nizamana.

Ambassador Khalid Musa provided a comprehensive explanation to the Foreign Relations Committee regarding the aggression against the Sudanese people, which caused the largest humanitarian disaster in the world, listing the crimes and violations of the Rapid Support Forces and the regional forces participating in the aggression.

He asked the Rwandan Parliament, through its membership in regional and international parliamentary formations, as well as its bilateral relations with various legislative institutions, to support Sudan’s efforts and the aspirations of the Sudanese people to achieve peace and stability, support reconstruction efforts, and hold accountable all those involved in committing atrocities and crimes against the Sudanese people.
For her part, the Chairperson of the Foreign Relations Committee praised this communication to explain Sudan’s point of view, expressing her sympathy with the Sudanese people and supporting everything that achieves peace and stability in the country. She stressed that the Rwandan Parliament will make the necessary efforts through its African and international relations to support the cause of Sudan and support the aspirations of the Sudanese people for peace and stability. She also welcomed the Parliament’s cooperation in response to the Ambassador’s request to share Rwanda’s experience in national construction and transitional justice after the genocide disaster that the Rwandan people suffered from as a pioneering African experience in addressing post-war and genocide situations.
