UNFPA Affirms readiness Continue Providing Drugs Supply to River Nile State

Nile River State Health Ministry, the Reproductive Health Department, in cooperation with the Sudanese Family Planning Association in the River Nile, with the support of the United Nations Housing Fund, organized a workshop on managing logistical information with health partners from the localities in the state.
Director of Reproductive Health in the UNFPA, Dr. Sheikh El-Din Ibrahim, said that the workshop aims at providing drug supplies through partners, and representatives of the localities, praising the strong partnership between the Fund and the Family Planning Association, Sudan Office in implementing health projects.
He added in his speech that the system of logistics information provides accurate data about the quality of storage, distribution and future needs and that the system is necessary in the health ssectors as it helps in the availability of medicines and reduces the chances of shortages and surpluses and provides effective and sustainable health care.

For her part, Dr. Salma Habib, Director of the Reproductive Health Department at the Ministry of Health in River Nile State said that the information system provides a stock of medicines with quality specifications and fills the shortage in life-saving medicines for reproductive health.

Executive Director of the SFPA in River Nile State, Ms. Kawthar Mohamed Ibrahim praised the UNFPA for its support and sponsorship of reproductive health programs through its support for all the association’s activities. She stressed in her speech that the workshop contributes to raising awareness among health partners in the localities to continue the service of drug flow.
