Sudan calls on the UNSC to take a firm position on the UAE’s ongoing aggressive activities against Sudan

Sudan supported the complaint it submitted to the United Nations Security Council last March against the UAE, and followed it with a letter dated October 11, 2024 to the Council, which carried new details about the ongoing aggression of the State against Sudan and its people by the terrorist militia.
The letter of the Permanent Representative of Sudan in New York to the President of the Security Council became that the UAE is treating militia fighters who were wounded in the battles at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi, and attached pictures of a number of them receiving treatment in that hospital.
The letter also included details and pictures of heavy artillery ammunition boxes bearing the name of the UAE, which were seized by the armed forces after the battles of Jebel Moya, in addition to trucks to transport weapons and ammunition for the militia, bearing Dubai license numbers and cards, as well as newly made Emirati medicines and medical supplies that were in the possession of the militia and showed that these seizures are in the possession of the armed forces and can be subject to examination by United Nations experts.
The letter stated that there are credible reports that the UAE is active in recruiting mercenaries in a number of countries to fight alongside the militia in Sudan, which is the method followed by the UAE in its military interventions in a number of countries.
This is in addition to the financial, logistical and diplomatic assistance it provides to the militia.
She explained that the UAE, with this behavior, is no longer an indirect supporter of the militia, but rather a key partner in the front line of the war of aggression against Sudan and its armed forces.
That made it a rogue state that defied international law and the United Nations system and sought to destabilize other states. She added that the UAE adopts a settlement project in Sudan based on the ethnic superiority of certain groups, which threatens coexistence and stability in the region.
The letter called on the Security Council to take a firm and clear position on the UAE’s ongoing aggressive activities against Sudan and its stand behind the brutal atrocities to which civilians are subjected, by condemning the UAE’s conduct in the strongest terms and holding it fully responsible under international law for its aggression against Sudan.
