Jaber, reviews the efforts of the summer harvest season in the Gezira Scheme

Member of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, 1st. Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, reviewed the progress of work in the Gezira Scheme and the efforts made to make the summer season a success along with the arrangements for the winter season.

His Excellency promised, during his meeting in his office today with the Governor of the Gezira Scheme, Agricultural Advisor Ibrahim Mustafa Ali, to work on providing the required support to solve the problems facing the project and some other projects.

The Governor of the Gezira Scheme indicated that the meeting focused on the requirements of the current stage related to addressing irrigation problems and removing weeds and silt, in addition to providing financing for agricultural inputs represented in fertilizer and seeds in coordination with the Ministry of Irrigation, Finance and the Agricultural Bank, in addition to securing fuel through the Ministry of Oil and government companies operating in the fuel sector in preparation for the winter season preparations.

He announced the success of the summer crop and the high productivity in Gezira State and other states through the cultivated area, which reached 560 thousand acres, which achieved abundant production that belies the slander of those who bet on a famine in Sudan.
Mustafa reassured the farmers of Gezira that the management of the Scheme is doing its utmost in coordination with the Sovereignty Council and relevant authorities to provide all inputs for the winter agricultural season to cultivate about 350 thousand acres of wheat.
He thanked the farmers for their efforts and patience despite the challenges, praising the great role of the armed forces in securing all stages of the production process.
