Sudanese Foreign Minister response to Foreign Minister of Norway

I have read your article published in Dagsavisen on September 21st,
2024, and would like to take this opportunity to offer some
clarifications regarding the position of the Government of Sudan as
well as its perspectives vis a vis certain issues raised in the
aforementioned article, as outlined below: –
First, the article does not accurately reflect, the reality of the situation
in Sudan. I do accept the illustrated article except for the issue of
equating the professional national army, the armed forces with the
rebel militia and referring to them as two parties to the conflict.
General Albourhan is the president of the Transitional Sovereign
Council, the legitimate governing body of the Sudanese people and
under no circumstances, H E couldn’t be equated to the commander
of this out-law militia that operates outside the principals and
structure of the Sudanese army .
Thus, it was unexpected from senior officials in the Government of
Norway, to put on equal footing, the national armed forces with a
militia who are mainly cross-boarding mercenaries with brutal
tendencies .
Secondly, Sudan has granted full access for humanitarian aid via all
available corridors. However, the RSF militia bear sole responsibility
for any impediment of the delivery of the aid .As it is broadly known ,
this militia, has looted World Food Program WFP warehouses and has
recently exploited the United Nations logos and vehicles for their own
purposes. The RSF’s misuse of UN resources is evident and deeply
troubling.
Thirdly, as a sovereign state, Sudan cannot turn a blind eye to the
smuggling of weapons disguised as deliveries of humanitarian aid.
The Government is committed to safeguarding its sovereignty and
ensuring the security of its people.
Fourth, the Adre border crossing, being located in eastern Chad, is
under the control of the latter, a nation currently at odds with Sudan.
This presents a serious challenge, as Adre is being used to supply
arms and aid to the militia with the international community aware of
this, and Norway , as well , is informed about these developments.
In light of the above, the Government of Sudan calls for the
international community to be fair and just concerning the ongoing
conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces SAF and the rebel RSF
militia who has committed unprecedented atrocities and clear
violations of international humanitarian law and human rights .
Currently SAF ‘s Division 16 are under siege by the militia in AL
Fashir, a situation well known to the international donors.
Therefore, Sudan affirms its sovereignty and remains steadfast in its
commitments to defend and protect the citizens .
