DUP Denounces Targeting Civilians in Omdurman

The Demcratic Unionest Party (DUP) issued the following statement in which it denoinced the practices of the RSF against the civilians in Omdurman:

the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Statement from the original Democratic Unionist Party Condemning the militia’s targeting of innocent civilians in Omdurman

In light of the ongoing war that our Sudanese people are suffering from, innocent civilians continue to be deliberately and systematically targeted through the random bombing carried out by the Rapid Support Militia on residential areas, markets, and service facilities in the city of Omdurman and other cities.
This criminal act not only represents a blatant violation of international laws, but is a full-fledged war crime that aims to take the lives of defenseless civilians and destroy their property and livelihoods.

We in the original Democratic Unionist Party condemn in the strongest terms this brutal bombing that does not respect any laws or humanitarian norms.
We hold the Rapid Support Forces fully responsible for these heinous crimes that contradict all humanitarian values and international norms. These repeated crimes demonstrate a clear insistence on ignoring the rights of civilians and endangering their lives.
We also express our strong condemnation of the continued and unjustified silence of international and regional organizations and some parties of the international community, as well as some Sudanese political forces that have not taken a firm and serious position to stop these horrific violations.
This suspicious silence directly contributes to the aggravation of the deteriorating humanitarian situation and increases the suffering of the Sudanese people.
The Democratic Unionist Party reminds the Rapid Support Forces of their obligations stipulated in the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023, which includes in its provisions the necessity of distinguishing at all times between civilians and combatants and between civilian targets and military targets, and refraining from launching any attack that may cause incidental civilian damage.
The declaration clearly states the necessity of taking all feasible precautions to avoid and minimize harm to civilians, which makes the continuation of these attacks unjustifiable in any way.
The original Democratic Unionist Party calls on the United Nations, the UN Security Council, the international community, as well as the facilitators of the Jeddah Declaration, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, to exert maximum pressure on the Rapid Support Forces to abide by what was signed in the Jeddah Declaration, and to put an end to these attacks that threaten the lives of civilians and destroy the country.
The continued silence regarding these heinous crimes is an unacceptable complicity, and the Sudanese people will not stand idly by in the face of this senseless killing of the Sudanese people.
We will continue with the Sudanese people our tireless struggle to defend the rights of citizens and protect their lives, and we will work with all our strength to put an end to these violations that constitute a breach of all international laws.
Mercy to the righteous martyrs, a speedy recovery to the wounded, and victory to the steadfast people in their battle against injustice and aggression.
