Chinese President receives Head of the Sovereignty Council

Chinese President Xi Jinping received today at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st. Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan.
This was on the sidelines of his participation in the activities of the China-Africa Forum, which concluded its activities in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

Al-Burhan praised the level of arrangement and organization of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, pointing to the deep-rooted historical relations between China and African countries, indicating that Sudan has strong relations with China that have extended for more than 65 years, pointing to its supportive positions for Sudan in international forums. Al-Burhan said that Sudan looks forward to working together with China to build a strategic partnership that benefits the peoples of the two countries.
His Excellency noted China’s huge economic investments in Sudan,
pointing to its contributions to the extraction of Sudanese oil and the establishment of infrastructure projects.

Al-Burhan renewed Sudan’s commitment to facilitating Chinese investment operations, indicating that the joint committees between the two countries will work to address the obstacles in a satisfactory manner.

Al-Burhan expressed his thanks and appreciation to China for its security and military support for Sudan.
He stressed Sudan’s determination to move forward towards ending the rebellion led by the Rapid Support Militia against the state and its institutions, and said that what Sudan is exposed to is a major plan behind which stand regional and international countries and organizations hostile to its security and stability.

For his part, the Chinese President welcomed the Head of the Sovereignty Council, and thanked him for accepting the invitation and participating in the China-Africa Forum.

He stressed that Chinese-African relations are eternal relations rooted in the depths of history, expressing his hope that the course of these relations will witness further development and growth, he added.
“We are proud of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.” the Chinese President said, adding that his country is following with concern the situation in Sudan and hopes that stability will return to Sudan quickly.

President Xi Jinping stressed his confidence in the Head of the Sovereignty Council and his ability to overcome this crisis.

He said that his country is ready to support Sudan and stand by it until it rises and enjoys peace.

He stressed his rejection of foreign interference in Sudanese affairs, calling on the international community to play a positive role towards Sudan’s issues.

The Chinese President expressed his solidarity with Sudan, government and people, in facing the floods and torrential rains that have caused great damage to citizens’ homes and properties, and announced his country’s support for Sudan with 200 million Chinese Yuan to meet the humanitarian needs of those affected by natural disasters in Sudan.
