SFPA Dispatches mobile clinic to Abu Hamad locality

The Sudanese Family Planning Association SFPA) dispatched the first mobile clinic in support of those affected by the recent floods and rains in Abu Hamad locality in River Nile State, leaving behind negative health effects.

Deputy Executive Director of Abu Hamad locality, Mustafa Osman Abdul Jalil, provided an update on the conditions in the locality and the negative effects of floods and rains during his reception in his office for the SFPA team headed by Mr. Mustafa Muhammad Siam.
He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the SFPA for dispatching the mobile clinic for the locality, indicating that it reflects the seriousness and interest of the SFPA to support those affected by natural disasters represented by floods and rains.
He stressed the locality’s readiness to provide the necessary facilities so that the SFPA team can carry out its tasks.
Executive Director of the SFPA, in River Nile State, Ms. Kawthar Mohamed Ibrahim, said in a press statement that the operation of the mobile clinic for Abu Hamad locality comes in coordination with UNICEF، UNFPA which provided considerable support to the convoy, along with the sponsorship of the presidency of the Federal Association and the Ministry of Health in the state, in response to the health emergency in the locality as a result of the conditions caused by the torrents and floods in the locality.
She praised the good reception of the SFPA team by the leadership of the locality, headed by Mr. Mustafa Osman Abdel Jalil, Deputy Executive Director of the locality and Head of the Health Unit in the locality. She affirmed that the team of the Abu Hamad, headed by Mr. Mustafa Mohamed Siam, will continue to provide its health services to those affected for several days at the Al-Murabbaat Basic School Shelter Center adding that the team includes a doctor, a laboratory technician, a sister, a community mobilizer, and representatives of youth and media.
She desclosed that the SFPA team has provided a number of services after the inauguration at the shelter center for those affected, including medical examination, laboratory and medicine services, in addition to distributing soap to combat infection and a water village of nineteen thousand liters of water, mosquito nets, and mattresses.
