Rebel militias bomb Omdurman Midwives Hospital

The rebel militia bombed Omdurman Midwives Hospital and the surrounding areas, with a large number of shells causing widespread destruction to the buildings.

The Khartoum State Health Emergency Committee issued a statement condemning the bombing, which confirms the militia’s targeting of health facilities and disrupting efforts to provide medical services to citizens.

The head of the committee and the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State, Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, said that the militia had carried out extensive looting of the hospital’s equipment and devices and turned it into a military barracks, which is the largest specialized hospital in the country. However, his committee worked hard to reopen it yesterday and received a number of pregnant women for examination purposes, stressing that the targeting will not deter health cadres from continuing their work, which has continued throughout the war without interruption, calling on international organizations to play their role stipulated in international humanitarian law to protect civilian facilities during wars
